Quad Events is excited to announce that we will run two stage races in 2026, a move away from the 4 race series that we have run over the past couple of years.
 
The two stand-alone events will be The Mystic Yak in Alpine High Country Victoria from March 13-15 and The Black Pearl in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie from November 6-8.  
 
Both destinations are perfect for the format with The Mystic Yak to be run across the Indigo Epic Trail network as well as Mystic Mountain Bike Park in Bright, whilst The Black Pearl will utilise many of the trails made popular my the Port to Port MTB stage race, which was originally created by the same management team behind these new events.
 
Both events will be run as three-day stage races, a pivot from the previous race schedule that saw a Prelude on the Friday followed by two full stages across the weekend.
 
The two chosen events for 2026 have proven the most popular with riders to date and the management team hope to take each to another level with the move to three full stages.

After careful consideration, we`ve made the difficult decision to postpone The Black Pearl until November 2027.

We believe the Hunter Valley deserves an incredible multi-day stage race, and when we bring it back, we want to do it right. Our vision is to create an event that combines everything riders loved about the original Port to Port with a fresh take that reflects today`s mountain biking scene.

For now, we`re pressing pause while we continue listening to our riders and watching how the events landscape evolves.

Thank you for your ongoing support, we can`t wait to share more when the time is right.

Until then, stay safe, support the events that keep our community thriving, and most importantly... don`t stop riding! 🚵

Important Notice to All Followers!
Unfortunately we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the Mystic Yak event planned for March 13-15 due to low rider registration numbers to date.
Despite promoting the event heavily over the past three months, registrations have unfortunately not reached the level required for us to proceed and deliver a high-quality event for our riders, stakeholders and the broader community.
We have today communicated the cancellation directly with all riders who had registered and informed them that their full entry fees will be refunded. We also felt that we needed to make this decision early enough for people to be able to adjust travel plans and bookings without incurring costs.
Right now, events are tough to deliver, but we will continue to explore ways that we may be able to pivot and deliver quality events for the mountain bike community in the future! 🙏
